Joakim Junior Hillson, born January 4, 1982 in Skogås, Huddinge, is a Swedish singer and songwriter.
Hillson got his big break at the age of 18 with the platinum-certified single Vacker utan spackel ("beautiful without makeup") in 2000. Hillson works today partly as a songwriter and producer and has, among other things, written the double-platinum-certified single Ingen sommar utan reggae ("No summer without reggae") performed by Markoolio. Ingen sommar utan reggae was number 1 on the Swedish singles chart for 5 weeks in the summer of 2007. Joakim has also written songs for several other artists in Sweden and Europe.
Hillson is also a chef and has started up restaurants and cafés in Stockholm. In 2019, he still partially worked in the restaurant industry and is the owner of an archipelago restaurant outside Stockholm.
Joakim is also the son of music producer Charlie Hillson.
We Love the 2000s
In the summer of 2022, Joakim Hillson performed his old hit Vacker utan spackel, at the '00s revival event "We Love the 2000s". Also performing at the event were contemporary acts like Wyclef Jean, Kate Ryan and Bomfunk MC's.
