Kate Ryan is a Belgian singer and songwriter known for her contributions to the electronic and dance music genres. She was born on July 22, 1980, in Tessenderlo, Belgium, as Katrien Verbeeck.
Ryan gained international recognition with her 2001 hit single Désenchantée, a cover of a song by French singer Mylène Farmer. The song became a massive success in many European countries and helped launch her music career.
