Country duo Tennessee Tears debuted in 2017 but had their wide breakthrough in Melodifestival 2023 with the song Now I Know. In early June, 2024, the duo visited Liseberg's country-themed weekend event Countryfest.

Tennessee Tears is a Swedish country music duo comprising Jonas Hermansson and Tilda Feuk. They gained recognition in the country music scene for their melodic harmonies and heartfelt lyrics.

Their music blends traditional country elements with contemporary sounds, appealing to both country purists and modern listeners. Tennessee Tears' performances are known for their emotional depth and engaging stage presence, contributing to their growing popularity in Sweden and beyond.

A Weekend of Cowboy Boots, Cowboy Hats, Cowboy Beer and Cowbow Music – Yeehaw!

Theme park Liseberg continues with themed weekends. Just a few weeks ago, CrowdSnapper visited MetAle, combining rock/metal shows with beer (that is where the "ale" part comes in, in metAle) testing and other beer-related activities...like air guitar contests.

For Countryfest, the theme of the weekend was of course country music. The event took place on Friday and Saturday, June 7-8 of 2024, with performances from Moreau and Tennessee Tears on the opening night, followed by Ellinor Springstrike & Gareth Nugent, as well as Martin Almgren on the closing night.

Cowboy Dancing

Before the shows, visitors had the chance to strap on their cowboy boots and wiggle along to some dandy country music. I managed to resist the strong urge to dance along with my camera bags, even though it would have been a sight for sore eyes. I know there are a few types of dances in the country-western community, like line dance, circle dance, square dance, squarespace, two-step and triple jump. I, however, learned that the dance taking place here was of the linear variety.

The smaller stage at Liseberg is also perfect for the occasion, since it used to be a stage and dance floor called Polketten where so-called "dance bands" would perform. Many people in the audience even did a bit of line dancing during Tennessee Tears' show.

Photographing the Show

I managed to get a photo pass and had access to the photo pit for the usual first three songs.

I mostly shot in manual mode at the widest aperture of f/2.8 and the shutter speed at 1/200 of a second throughout most of the set, which seemed to work quite well for freezing the action.

The lighting was great for this show, so I was quite pleased with the resulting images. Check them out below!

Special Thanks

Before signing off, I'd like to thank Liseberg and its staff for the opportunity to shoot this show. Also the band, of course.
